Time to show your creative side.  Tonight we worked towards our showman Activity pin.  Time to be fun, silly, and just have a blast.  It's all about puppets.
Tonight we wrote a play and got to produce it using the puppets we made.  Pretty cool to use our creative noodles from time to time.  Tonight we worked towards achievments 2, 3, 5, 6, 7.  Great jobs guys!!

Jackson- burns and scalds

Bret- blisters

Michael- tick bites

Nic- stopped breathing

David- sunburn

Keep up the great work.  Next meeting we'll start our Showman.

Great job tonight, guys!   We worked on the compass, maps, bus routes and all kinds of navigation tips.  You were great listeners and moved through the compass excercise with no problems.  I was impressed across the board.  Tonight, you each earned your Travelers Activity Badge!

Den Meeting 10/11

posted Oct 25, 2010 1:53 PM by Bill Anderson

This week we worked on our Naturalist badge.  We discussed and worked with a variety of poisonous plants, reptiles and insects and simple remedies.  We also studies a variety of producers, consumers and decomposers which some of the boys collected from the neighborhood prior to the meeting.  Other discussion included naming some of the ways humans have changed the balance of nature and steps we could take on our own to protect our environment.  (This week's activities came from Den Meeting 3 in the Leaders Handbook.)

Fitness & Athletics Tracking Week 1

posted Sep 30, 2010 1:53 PM by Bill Anderson   [ updated Oct 25, 2010 2:13 PM by Bill Anderson ]

This week we worked on our Fitness and Athlete Activity Badges.  We discussed ways to stay physically and mentally healthy and practiced a number of fitness activities, such as sit-ups, high-jump and running.  Webelos should work to develop their own fitness workout and keep it up for at least the next 10 weeks.  We will continue some of the excercises as part of our weekly meetings.  We also discussed creating a menu for our home, which should be put into action and brought to a future meeting to share.

Here are the High Jump Stats from our first round of fitness training.  Nice job, guys!

Welcome Back Webelos!

posted Sep 7, 2010 7:19 AM by Bill Anderson

I just wanted to take a quick moment to let you know the web site calendar has been updated and our first meeting set.  Well, maybe not set in stone, but close enough for now.  Our first Den meeting will be next Monday on the 13th (Bill’s house), followed by the first pack meeting on the 17th (Masonic Lodge).  I hope we have a fun interesting year planned and the boys are hopefully maturing and will get to do a little, involved tasks this year.  This will mean more hard work from you, I mean the boys.

Let me also inform you that I believe all our scouts are returning this year, except for Sam.  They hear they moved to Orlando.  But now for the really good news, we got 4 new scouts signed up at the round up last week.  So please welcome…
  • Jack B.
  • Micah C.
  • Timmy G. (returning, Webelos II)
  • Daniel K.

...to our pack.  We are all glad to have you in our group.  Timmy is actually a retuning scout from Pack 12, so welcome back Timmy.

Please don’t forget to visit our web page at www.lutzcubscouting.org to get up to date information on pack and den information.  Addresses and maps to our meeting places are usually there and ready for your use.

If anyone has any questions, as always please contact Bill or myself.

Thank you and have a great week.
